Sandalwood
A creamy, soft wood note long used as both a fragrance ingredient and a carrier oil for attars.
Origin
Mysore sandalwood (India) is the classical benchmark, though Australian sandalwood is now more common commercially due to sustainability concerns around the Indian variety.
Character
Smooth, milky, and slightly sweet with almost no sharp edges — sandalwood is prized for making other notes around it feel softer and rounder.
